Hello, I am Liam

I work as a project manager, am a parent, and I’m an expat living in Toronto, Canada.

A few years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.

How It Started

Moving to Canada wasn’t part of the long-term plan. Like many expat moves, it began as a work opportunity and quickly became something much bigger.

The first months were demanding — new processes, new rhythms, new expectations. Routine tasks felt more complex than they should.

The Adjustment Period

There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, routines took shape. We found places that worked for us, connected with other families, and began building something that felt stable.

Why I Built Tavlo Miren Opaz

Most information online was either corporate relocation guidance or surface-level tourism material. What was missing was an honest, day-to-day family perspective.

This site exists to close that gap — practical guidance based on real life in Canada.

What this site stands for (and what it doesn't)

This site is:

  • Practical experience from residing in Canada
  • Centered on family life and daily realities
  • Updated when something genuinely changes

This site isn't:

  • Not a tourism authority resource
  • Not a sponsored review platform
  • Not a generic travel blog

Looking ahead

Our time in Canada continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue to document what we uncover.

If you have questions about family life in Toronto or anywhere in Canada, don't hesitate to get in touch.

Best regards,

Liam
